THE GROOVE BLUEPRINT

7/10 May 2026, Rome

“The Groove Blueprint” is an artistic and educational project created with the aim of building a concrete bridge between the world of street and club dances and the context of the contemporary theatre scene, fostering an authentic dialogue between languages, aesthetics, and practices often considered distant.

At the core of the initiative is the idea that urban dances are not only performative expressions tied to competitive contexts, but can also evolve into structured forms of choreographic research, capable of engaging with dramaturgy, stage space, and the codes of theatrical production.

The project unfolds through a series of free artistic residencies, led by national and international choreographers and artists, designed to offer participants a supportive yet stimulating environment in which to experiment, create, and deepen their artistic language. These residencies represent spaces of intensive research, where movement practice intertwines with broader reflections on composition, intention, stage presence, and the construction of meaning.

The project positions itself not only as a training opportunity, but also as a platform for artistic development and integration into the contemporary performing arts landscape, aimed at young dancers and emerging companies.

A distinctive element of “The Groove Blueprint” is its focus on cross-disciplinary training: alongside choreographic work, the program offers masterclasses dedicated to cultural project design and communication—essential tools for those who wish to build a sustainable career in the performing arts sector.

The ultimate goal is to guide dancers through a comprehensive path that goes beyond technique, encouraging them to develop a conscious and personal artistic vision. “The Groove Blueprint” thus becomes a laboratory of ideas where movement, research, and dramaturgy meet, giving rise to new hybrid expressive forms capable of redefining the boundaries between street culture and contemporary theatre.
